I own a couple of hilly acres and was looking for a small rear spreader for my B7500. I am getting too old to push the hand spreader up those hills. I want it for fertilizing the lawn and also for liming the grass. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Also, could these be used to spread salt and sand.

Are you looking for a tow behind or 3pt pto spreader. For a small one, a tow behind is going to be enough. Agri-Fab has a couple of inexpensive tow behinds, for about $200. You can get them at TSC or Northerntool. ....

Worksaver makes the smallest 3pt spreader I've seen, and it's pretty small at 1.5 bushels. Worksaver and Cosmo have larger units at 300 and 500 lbs. The 300 lb. Cosmo ot Worksaver would probably be plenty. Worksavers are avalable at TSC, and the Cosmos can be had at TSC, Northerntool, and Agri-Supply. They are probably also available from other distribiutors in your area. Worksaver, also Farmstar, has a decent website with a good desciption of their products.

The 1.5 bushel spreader is smaller than you think. You may want to check on whether it was pto driven or a 12v motor, don't remember. I didn't buy it because of the size. Good luck. ....
